About Spam-Stopper
The
'Spam Stopper' is a method of stopping SPAM or unwanted email from being delivered
to your email box. There are currently many different services and programs that
attempt to do this, but nothing to date has been effective in stopping the SPAM
problem. Spam Stopper puts complete control into the hands of the end user.
Our
Test Results:
After testing currently available services and programs, and
trying all of the current methods, it was clear that there needed to be something
more to offer our clients. NONE of the current programs were effective in -stopping-
spam through our six month test.
There were some services and programs
that helped with the UCE problem, but our test results in every case, made the
services that were tested not worth the end user time and effort to block spam.
Filtering Takes Time And Knowledge
Each time an email address broker
sold his list, over 30% of the incoming email was unknown to the current filter
or method. This required adding new filters and block commands, which took time
to tune and hours going through email source code. Time was also taken trying
to decide which method of filtering would be best for each SPAMMER. I.e. blocking
by email address, header, body content, etc.

To Avoid Filters
We also noticed that many spammers redesign their email on
a regular basis for the reason of getting around filters. (see "why
filtering alone does not work to totally block spam" for more
information) This required us to re-open the new email source and find a new working
filter for it, which again took more time and some knowledge that not every computer
user would have.
It was clear that not many users would have the time to
keep up with filters, and not all end users would have the knowledge to do so.
Email Filters Delete Good Email Too
There were also problems with using
email filters. Some legitimate email would be filtered that contained some of
the same criteria that was added to the filter. If the end user did not want this
to happen, he would need to choose a different option that required him to view
a list of message headers before sending them to trash. This took even more time
away from the end user. It also made the service almost useless, because the user
was forced to look through a list of message subjects, which could have been done
from the email program without the need of the service.

Made Filters
There were some services that offered to automatically filter
for you and keep you up to date with the latest filters. While this helped with
the time issue, we found that there was a high percentage of legitimate email
being filtered and blocked. In a real time test, simply because the "legitimate"
sender added a "!!!" to the end of his message subject,
the email was not delivered.
Other
Anti Spam Methods
Some services offered to block ALL email unless the person
sending the message to you was added to an allow list. While these services seemed
to have an effective method, it was lacking options and required user intervention
and configuration. Sometimes configuration by both the sender and receiver was
needed before email could be received. This method was rejected by our development
team as a 'complete solution', because it fell into 'end user time and debugging
issues'. There were end user configuration errors among other problems.
After
only six months of testing, we gave up and started brainstorming to come up with
a better method and service to offer our end users.
We
spent weeks going over different methods and new method ideas, before realizing
that the method was staring us in the face the entire time.
The Birth
Of Spam-Stopper
It is not a new method, but something we have done for years
to block unwanted email.
The reason that we did not think of it right away,
was because this method is being used by individual power users and network experts.
It also requires the end user to have their own domain name. This would not include
the every day end user and thus the thought of this method must have went by the
way side.
We quickly went to work on ways to overcome the issues and develop
Spam-Stopper using this powerful anti spam method. Spam-Stopper is now a simple
easy to use service.
Spam Stopper has also been designed USER FRIENDLY.
A new computer user or someone with limited computer knowledge can easily use
it. Spam-Stopper also includes power options for those more advanced.
Spam-Stopper
Creates Each User Their Own Virtual Email Host
We created a simple to use
interface, with 'one click' options. We also installed a name server and a script
that automatically creates a mail sub domain for each user. We then send ALL email
that comes in for the users domain directly to their personal email address.
These
options when put together, provides us with a method that we can offer to the
public that really does work.
As like any good idea you always ask yourself,
"why hasn't this already been done?"
We do not have an answer
for that, but we can say that when using Spam-Stopper, you will have control over
your email address and stop spam the same way power users and large companies
do.
Spam-Stopper Uses A User Friendly Interface
We have designed a simple
to use interface that will even allow a child the ability to completely block
SPAM without spending precious time or learning filter commands. Plus the added
benefit of not experiencing the problems that come with other anti-spam services
or programs.
We also understand that email filtering has almost become
'a way of life' for some end users.
There may also be those that have used
other methods and simply like some of their options. This is why Spam-Stopper
has also added some useful options from other methods.
This will give
the Spam-Stopper user a choice of what method to use and see what works best in
each individual case. Spam-Stopper also uses many new POWER options that you do
not find with other services.
Spam-Stopper provides the results where other
services take a back seat.
