| About WonderPopUp
We
have recently had some of our users contact us about WonderPopUp
Messenger messages.
These type
of popup messages are not stopped by popup blocking programs, filtering email
or most firewall programs.
This support page is will walk you through
a few simple steps that will allow you to block this new method of SPAM.
What
Is WonderPopUp? WonderPopUp is a program developed by spammers that sends
messages to computers that have the Windows Net
Messenger service enabled. The program
will send messages to the entire Internet by stepping through IP subnets. The
program will attempt to send a message to every IP on the Internet. It will connect
to ranges of IP's sending the popup message to any computer that is found running
the Windows Messenger service.

Where
To Send Complaints These new SPAM messages do not have email headers which
will make sending complaints to the spammers ISP harder. Unless you have some
kind of advanced firewall system, you will not even get the IP address of the
sender. The best thing to do would be to simply turn off the Messenger service.
This will stop you from getting future messages. If you wish to complain to someone,
a good start might be to those selling selling these programs.
